The Reno Rotary Foundation was formally established as a 501 (c) (3) corporation on July 14, 1992, to provide a way for the Rotary Club of Reno to accumulate funds to support worthy cultural, social, environmental, charitable and/or civic activities. Prior to 1992, funds had been raised by the Club for the same purposes, however gifts to the Foundation are tax deductable under the income tax codes. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided grants and donations amounting to over $165,000.
The Foundation raises funds through a variety of methods including our annual "Mardi Gras" fundraiser. The Foundation also distributes the "fines" collected at our weekly Club meetings.
Even with these superb efforts, the dollars needed for worthy activities outpace the resources of the Foundation. Consequently, the Foundation continues to seek and accept large gifts.
